Dolly Travels: Getting Ready for New Year's Eve in Austria |

 Yes, Frank and I arrived here in Vienna on Wednesday evening. What a beautiful city, made even more beautiful by the festive lights across the streets, the stands selling roasted chestnuts, sausages, hot punch and mulled wine. The weather is cold, but clear, so we have been able to walk around and see the sights without being miserable. We have our heavy coats, hats, gloves and scarves, so we are just fine.
After we had walked around most of the day yesterday, we went to St. Peter's Church to hear a concert on the pipe organ there. Glorious! St. Peter's is a relatively small church, but the acoustics in the church were fantastic, and a nice repast from the hectic, everyday life outside the church.
Last night we went out just to see the lighted streets. There are lots of tourists here, getting more crowded each day, as it gets closer to New Years. We are watching the workmen complete the stages for the different music venues thought this old city. Tomorrow, starting at noon, there will be music in 12 different squares, all within a 2-mile radius, so will be easy walking from one venue to another.
