Gay Travel: Rome Day Six, Part Two - Hadrian's Tomb and the Mouth of Truth |

After a quick visit to see the exterior of the Castel St. Angelo, the mausoleum of the Emperor Hadrian, we crossed the Tiber again and found a great little place for lunch called Ristorante Cantina del Vecchio, with a number of "quadrati", or paintings, by local artists on the walls.
Again, like in most places in Rome, we had great hosts. We don't seem to be able to have a simple lunch here - maybe just a piece of pizza and a bag of chips. Instead, every lunch is huge, like today, when we started with a cheese plate, and then had sicilian gnocchi and a meat pizza, which Mark and I shared together.
The gnocchi was really good - with big chunks of melted mozzarella mixed in, and a fantastic pomodoro sauce.
