Dolly Travels: Florence and Greve in Chianti |

 Summer has arrived in Florence. It is becoming quite hot in the afternoon but thank goodness for evening breezes.
My friend, Sharon, left on Monday, so I am left to my own devices. I had decided sometime ago, that I would make it my goal to cross every bridge on the Arno that is on my city map. I am happy to tell you that today I completed that goal.
Now I don't know how many miles that covers, and I did not do it in one day. Tuesday I did the bridges east of Ponte Vecchio and today I covered the bridges west of that point.
Tuesday was a beautiful sunny day. I started on my walk about 10:00 a.m. I stopped for a cappuchino along the way, walking on the Florence side of the river.
By the time I got to Ponte Niccolo, I was inundated by tour groups. The big buses park near the bridge, and they were unloading tour groups by the dozens. Fortunately, after crossing the street in front of the bridge,
I found a pedestrian area that wended it's way through a park, still following the river. I saw people kayaking, and was tempted myself, but common sense prevailed and I continued my trek.
