Marriage Equality Rallies Next Week
United for Marriage is planning more than 150 marriage equality rallies next week to coincide with the Supreme Court hearings on prop 8 and Defense of Marriage Act. Here are a few of them:

In Charlotte, SC, the rally will be held on March 26th at 6 PM. The Battery reports:

"The idea was to have a public display so that people will begin to understand that there is this really large groundswell of support for marriage equality," AFFA executive director Warren Redman-Gress says. "Many people don't really pay attention to stories that come out about the support for marriage equality, and after the last election they did a poll of bipartisan voters and they showed that 75 percent of the people who were polled believed that a person should have a right to marry whom they love and that that's a constitutional right." Just last week, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, a Republican, very publicly flipped his opposition to gay marriage.

In Sacramento, there's a rally/vigil on the 26th and the 27th:

WHAT: Rallies and candlelight vigils to be held on the steps of the Federal Courthouse. Please make signs to bring and we'll be providing candles.
WHEN: On both Tuesday, March 26th and Wednesday, March 27th
WHERE: Sacramento Federal Courthouse, 501 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

In San Diego on March 25th:

UNITED STATES FEDERAL COURT HOUSE 880 FRONT STREET MARCH 25TH 6PM -
Supporters of marriage equality will gather at UNION STREET AND WEST
BROADWAY in advance of the U.S. Supreme Court hearing oral arguments
in two historic cases that examine whether gay and lesbian Americans
should have the same opportunities as everyone else. The Rally is part
of the United for Marriage: Light the Way to Justice Coalition, a
group of LGBT and allied organizations rallying in Washington, DC and
in communities all across the country to show the broad support for
marriage equality.
