ANTARCTICA: Planting Peace, the non-profit LGBT advocacy organization perhaps best known for building the rainbow-colored Equality House directly across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church headquarters in Topeka, KS, declared Antarctica the world's "First LGBT-Friendly Continent" after trekking across the southernmost continent carrying a rainbow flag. full story

USA, KANSAS: Kansas is now on deck to be the first state to pass a sweeping anti-transgender bill that would pay people a $2,500 bounty to hunt for trans people. full story

USA, KENTUCKY: The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed a complaint to a prison in Kentucky state which has repeatedly censored materials that are deemed as 'pro-homosexuality' from prisoners' mail. full story

USA, MASSACHUSETTS: The wife of a Massachusetts woman who filed a class action lawsuit accusing Wal-Mart of wrongly denying employee benefits for same-sex spouses has died. full story

USA, NORTH CAROLINA: Last Friday, the antigay Benham Brothers joined other antigay activists in North Carolina, calling on Gov. Pat McCrory to schedule a special session of the state legislature to nullify a nondiscrimination ordinance that was recently passed by the Charlotte City Council. full story

USA, NORTH CAROLINA: The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Equality North Carolina have blasted the leaders of the North Carolina legislature for taking the step of calling a costly special session for this Wednesday to undermine Charlotte's recently passed non-discrimination ordinance. full story

USA, NORTH CAROLINA: The North Carolina General Assembly is returning for an expected one-day session Wednesday to block implementation of Charlotte's new "bathroom ordinance" before it takes effect April 1. But the final legislation would pre-empt completely what Charlotte added to its non-discrimination ordinance, and prevent local governments from passing similar acts. full story

USA, TENNESSEE: Tennessee Freemasons meeting this week in Nashville will vote on whether to lift their ban on gay members. full story

USA, TENNESSEE: A legislative committee voted today to send an anti trans "bathroom bill" bill to a summer study session, killing it for this year. full story
